Sr Data Analyst

Sapphire Digital’s cost analytics team is seeking a Senior Data Analyst! You will be responsible for day-to-day triage of data issues, assisting in the development and testing of data processes, evaluating, and configuring client environments, executing periodic reporting, and building ad-hoc reports/analysis as needed.

In this position, you'll be responsible for:

  • Assisting in maintaining client databases including data sources, data structures, data organization, and data optimization
  • Identifying issues and seeing them through to resolution with team assistance
  • Validating of client and vendor data through web tools and phone interaction
  • Performing updates to MS SQL databases via prewritten scripts or developing new scripts as the situations require
  • Examining data using a combination of tools and methodologies to find patterns and trends that merit further investigation
  • Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques and providing reports using a combination of words, charts, graphs and other visualizations to present your findings
  • Working with the team to identify and address opportunities for process enhancements as well as new analytical opportunities
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for data and processes

You might be a good fit if you have:

  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Postgres SQL, MS SQL, Power BI and experience analyzing flat data files against relational databases
  • Technical expertise regarding data sources, data structures, data organization, and data optimization
  • Strong understanding of Health Plan provider contracting and how contracting terms are leveraged by the adjudication system
  • Strong experience with reporting packages (SSRS preferred), databases (SQL Server preferred)
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience analyzing large datasets
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A. / B. S.) from four-year college or university; three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Time management skills, oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, ability to multi
  • Strong knowledge of health insurance plans required
