Sales Director

We’re looking for a passionate and driven Sales Director who will be responsible for negotiating health plan partnership agreements, building, and managing health plan relationships, and prospecting, selling, closing, and negotiating final terms with the health plans’ client base, both insured and self-funded. While subject to change as needed, the geographic focus of this role will be National.

In this position, you'll be responsible for:

  • Cultivating in-depth relationships with prospects, leads and partners within a specific territory or channel via telephone, video conference, e-mail, and face-to-face meetings to develop and/or enhance the relationship, build customer satisfaction, and generate new revenue
  • Using strong consultative and solutions based selling skills, ability to build relationships, influence decision-making, and negotiate sales to meet or exceed assigned sales targets
  • Building and executing territory management and sales strategy for prospective business, generally consisting of employers ranging in size from 500 – 100,000 employees, health plans ranging in size from 100,000 – 10,000,000 members, and government and municipal entities of all sizes
  • Relationship building and management with consultants and accounts to leverage the position of the organizations products in the marketplace to achieve sales goals and objectives for increased revenue and product penetration
  • Understanding the marketplace of platform-based solutions and 2-stage selling; first to health plans and TPA’s, and then to their clients
  • Executing upon sales plan, measured by intermediate action steps within the SalesForce CRM, as well as deal valuations, measured by a combination of headcount and Annual Recurring Revenue
  • Leveraging information, technology and other tools and programs to inform and train consultants and accounts about product portfolio, services, enhancements, processes, product modifications, additions and changes
  • Directing the preparation of proposals, including responding to complex RFPs, preparing financial exhibits and sales presentations to ensure the consultant/prospects receives timely and accurate information to optimize their ability to close the case
  • Developing and deliver proposals and presentations, with proficiency in appropriate current and emerging technology to multiple audiences including benefits and HR staff, C-Suite business partners, and senior consultants
  • Taking ownership in territory management, business-partner satisfaction, and sales performance
  • Displaying Teamwork and professionalism in all interactions internally and externally
  • Being the face of the organization to consultants, prospects, and the overall market

You might be a good fit if you have:

  • 10+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience with targeted backgrounds with health plans, ancillary products, platform or vended solutions. Special consideration provided for SaaS experience selling into health plans
  • Self-Motivated and self-disciplined to work remote
  • Experience working with health plans of all sizes, national employers, consultants, and/or significant experience with governmental/municipal entities. Experience with Medicare plans a plus
  • Superior consultative selling, persuasion, relationship building and negotiation skills with proven sales results
  • Ability to actively solicit the support and involvement of appropriate individuals from different parts of the organization when addressing issues that affect them
  • Must demonstrate effective organizational, time management and prioritization skills in order to consistently meet deadlines, achieve/exceed assigned quota, and overall individual goals
